Jun 06, 2012 · My girlfriends R56 MINI WAVE CD made the same problems. Display, On/Off - Button and Volume Screwer were working but the other Buttons didn't. When this problem started it was not all the time and temperature depending. Therefore I thought it could be a cold soldering joint. I dismounted the radio and dissembled it to get out the PCBs

You have to turn it very slowly to get higher volume, usually resulting in the volume going down. Its been getting worse - the only resolution is to whack the knob and it'll work on for a minute or so. So this morning, I tried to raise the volume and nothing. Tried the steering wheel and regular controls..nothing. I can change stations and do everything else but nothing volume related. I tried the mute and unbutton that doesn't work as well. I thought it was just that one. When I parked, I started messing around and ALL OF THE BUTTONS except the Map, Info, Skip/FFW, Volume/PWR knob, and Preset/CD 1-6 buttons do not work!!!!!
